Yama (The Principles)

We are our thoughts. Our face, often described as the index of our thoughts, reflects our inner world. Thoughts shape actions, actions form habits, habits build character, and character defines our aura. While the concept of aura might seem esoteric to some, it is both a physical and metaphysical phenomenon.

On a physical level, aura is an electrical corona discharge emanating from the body, which can be visualized using Kirlian photography. On a metaphysical level, it represents the vibrational frequency we emit—our energy signature—that can attract or repel others without a word being exchanged.

As our aura influences what and who we draw into our lives, it becomes a determinant of our destiny. After all, isn’t what or who we attract or repel a critical factor shaping the course of our lives?

Principles are the distilled essence of our highest thoughts. At their core, every principle originates as a thought—a mental seed that, through reflection and repetition, evolves into a guiding value or belief. In this way, thoughts serve as the raw material from which principles are forged. Conversely, once established, principles function as a compass, shaping and refining our thoughts. They become a reference point, guiding the kinds of thoughts we permit ourselves to nurture and act upon.
